Eyefinity OfficeMate

Eyefinity OfficeMate and ExamWRITER were pioneering practice management and electronic health record (EHR) software developed by Eyefinity. These server-based solutions served as foundational tools for many eye care practices for decades, offering a suite of features to manage daily operations and patient records. Key functionalities included appointment scheduling, patient demographics, insurance verification, billing and collections, inventory management, exam documentation, prescription writing, patient history, and image storage. Early integration with VSP, a major vision insurance provider, was a significant advantage for practices utilizing this service. While functional, the user interface of Eyefinity OfficeMate and ExamWRITER reflected the era in which they were developed. It featured a more traditional, desktop-like appearance with menus, toolbars, and windows. This interface, while usable, might have been perceived as less modern or intuitive compared to contemporary cloud-based solutions. Performance depended heavily on the local server infrastructure. While generally reliable, server maintenance, updates, and potential hardware issues could occasionally disrupt practice workflow.
