RecentX is designed to make everyday Windows computing faster by eliminating repetitive navigation through folders, menus, file managers, and applications. It automatically tracks recently and frequently accessed files and folders, allowing users to locate important resources with only a few keystrokes. The software also provides clipboard history management, enabling users to retain, organize, edit, preview, tag, and reuse previously copied text and images. Its tagging system allows files, folders, and clipboard clips to be organized according to projects, categories, file types, or personal workflows. Users can assign hierarchical tags, color-code information, pin important items, and attach notes for easier retrieval. RecentX integrates with Windows file open and save dialogs, making frequently needed resources accessible from applications without repeatedly navigating through directories. Its built-in previewer supports documents, images, PDFs, spreadsheets, audio, video, text, Markdown, code, and other content. Users can also copy, rename, delete, drag, drop, or attach files directly from the application. Network folders can be accessed quickly, while advanced search supports exact matches, wildcards, regular expressions, exclusions, and saved search terms for recurring workflows.
