Paylib was a mobile payment platform developed by Groupe BPCE and a consortium of French banks, designed to facilitate secure, instant peer-to-peer money transfers and payments. After over a decade of operation, the service has been officially discontinued and replaced by Wero, a new European-scale instant payment solution. Users were transitioned to Wero within their existing banking applications, maintaining the same core functionality of instant account-to-account transfers via phone numbers. The transition was designed to be seamless, with both systems remaining compatible during the migration period. As of 2025, the Paylib brand has been retired in favor of Wero, which aims to expand mobile payment services across Europe, including Germany and Belgium.
