DokitaEyes is a socially driven electronic health records and patient management platform designed to address long-standing gaps in healthcare continuity across African populations, especially in rural and underserved communities. By replacing fragmented paper-based records with a centralized digital “Super Health Record,” the platform enables patients to carry their medical history everywhere through a secure QR-code system, even offering a physical card option for those without smartphones. Its mobile-first design prioritizes simplicity and accessibility, allowing patients, community health workers, and healthcare professionals to navigate the system with minimal technical barriers. Beyond basic record keeping, DokitaEyes supports online consultations, appointment booking, remote prescription renewals, and the ordering and delivery of medications and laboratory tests through partner networks, effectively linking patients to the broader healthcare ecosystem. The inclusion of symptom note tracking empowers patients to actively participate in their care, while insurance and co-payment features help streamline financial processes. Now in its third version with regular updates, the platform emphasizes data security through encryption and user-controlled data deletion, addressing trust concerns in digital health adoption.
