Multi-spectrometer management

SpectraSuite allowed users to control multiple USB spectrometers simultaneously within the same application. It could display data from each device on a single graph or in separate windows, which was useful for dual-beam referencing, process monitoring, and other advanced setups.

Real-time data acquisition

The software's "Scope mode" provided a live view of the spectrum, allowing users to see changes in real-time as the experimental conditions changed.

Data processing parameters

Users could adjust several parameters to control the quality and appearance of their spectral data.

Integration Time

This feature controls the period over which light is collected, affecting the overall signal intensity.

Scans to Average

By averaging multiple acquisitions, this reduces noise and improves the signal-to-noise ratio.

Boxcar Smoothing

This spatial averaging technique smooths the spectral data by averaging adjacent data points, which can also reduce noise.

Graphical and tabular data views

SpectraSuite offered multiple ways to view the data. The "Graph view" provided the standard visual representation of a spectrum, while the "Table view" displayed the underlying numeric data.

Color calculations

For applications involving color science, SpectraSuite could calculate color parameters like CIE illuminants, Color Rendering Index (CRI), and other metrics.

Modular architecture

The Java-based framework was built with a modular design, meaning different functions for acquisition, processing, and display were separate modules. This allowed for custom extensions and scripting for automated experiments.
